Green Canister

These celadon-green glazed canisters are modelled after the old Spice Road containers for dried fruits and preserves carried by Indian and Arab traders from China and traded in their home nations. The originals were often unadorned or even unglazed when used primarily for dry goods. Wealthier Chinese homes also used these porcelain canisters to store or even make pickled vegetables and fruits in bygone days.
