Round Canisters (Set of 3)

A set of 3 (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small).

These canisters are modelled after the old Spice Road containers for dried fruits and preserves carried by Indian and Arab traders from China and traded in their home nations. The originals were often unadorned but when they became fashionable in the west, Chinese potters began decorating them with underglaze and cobalt glazes to make them outright artworks. Wealthier Chinese homes also used these porcelain canisters to store or even make pickled vegetables and fruits in bygone days.
